8 Shortcuts Life Saver for Excel Users

Excel is a software application tool that use for helping users resolving data, doing report, collect and analyst data and more useful feature relate data managing.

It really useful if you’re an excel expert users, but if you just normal user like me, it will be very hard to use. And sometime it take too much time to edit or re-range something with cells, raw or columns.

After do many research on our previous problem with excel usage, today we decide to lists 8 shortcuts for excel users that save a lot of time.

1. Select All

Ctrl + A is a shortcut of selecting all, but have tricky on it. For once Ctrl + A click is for select the current tables, For twice Ctrl + A click is for select the entire worksheet.

2. Resize Columns

Sometime when we have long text on the cells and it doesn’t show full information because the columns length that contain it are smaller than the text it contain. For this case we have a little trick to solve it by hover your cursor to the right of the columns that you want to resize and do double-click.

3. Add Current Date

If we want to input current date to the cell, we can do it very quick way by  press Ctrl + ;. With that shortcut it save a lot of time to input current by look at the date in the bottom right corner of the computer.

4. Add comments

Like our programmer, we always add comments to our code to remind us what that line of code doing. So we can understand what it will do after long time back. Excel also have that tricky, so if you want to leave some mark or comment on that cell, you can do it by press Ctrl + F2.

5. Pass to All

Some case we want to copy and paste data to many cells. for that we can do that in fast way. First copy data from the cell than hold Ctrl Key and click the cells that you want to paste in. with Ctrl key we can click many cells as we want.

6. Do Break line in Cell

When we do click Enter key it will take you to the next cell of the worksheet. But if you want to do break line in cell, you need to press Alt + Enter.

7. Insert Multiple Rows or Columns

Every time we do right click on the row or columns it will give us an option to insert the row or column. For that it will insert only one row or column. We do insert multiple rows or columns by highlight many rows or columns you want to add right click on that and choose insert. It will add many rows or columns depend on number of highlight selected.

8. Select All Rows or Columns

we can select all specific rows or columns by click on columns name A, B, C … or rows number 1,2,3 . Here is the shortcut for doing the same by pressing Ctrl + Space-bar for select all column, and Shift + Space-bar for select all rows.
